Chivas Regal | Engraving

For Lunar New Year, Chivas Regal promoted its 12 year and XV a year Scottish whiskey with a complimentary engraving service at BC Liquor Stores.

I got the opportunity to combine my freehand engraving skill with Chinese calligraphy, to personalize these beautifully aged bottles of Scotch with meaningful messages for the intended gift recipients.

Many clients chose to engrave New Year blessings, wishing for their recipients good fortune and health, as well as name personalizations in Chinese. Some clients preferred to have English personalizations for birthdays, weddings, and other special commemorative occasions.

My favourite personalization of the evening:

A client purchased several bottles, intended as gifts for her young grandchildren (in safekeeping by their parents of course), to keep until they come of age and have a special occasion to open it, such as their graduation or wedding. I thought this was a beautiful family tradition.
